Philippe Parreno, Artistic Director of the Okayama Art Summit 2025, is currently presenting his work Membrane as part of an open-air exhibition in the schoolyard of the former Uchisange Elementary School.
Due to popular demand, the viewing hours for this installation will be extended from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on weekends and public holidays (including substitute holidays) during the following period:
Dates: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (including substitute holidays) from October 18 (Sat) to November 24 (Mon, substitute holiday), 2025 — a total of 14 days
Venue: Former Uchiyamashita Elementary School (1-chome, Marunouchi, Kita-ku, Okayama City)
※ Please note that the venue will remain open until 6:00 PM on these days.
However, other artworks exhibited at the venue will still be viewable only until 5:00 PM as usual.
Other artworks can also be enjoyed at night, such as James Chinlund’s Rainbow Bus Line, featuring city buses illuminated in six different colors — each bus decorated in a unique hue — and Liam Gillick’s Apkallu Portal, a mysterious glowing face-in-the-hole panel located in front of the entrance to the Orient Museum. We invite you to enjoy these evening exhibitions during the long autumn evenings.
